FLEETING MOMENTS | PRECIOUS MEMORIES

I am in love with this newborn photo session.  Baby Mackenzie was just a perfect little sleepy bundle of love.  She slept through most of the session which gave me a great opportunity to try out some of my brand new headbands.  My style is very natural and organic and I wanted to make sure that if I use props they they reflect that.  Overall, I use props minimally and also pose very minimally. I prefer to photograph babies as they are in natural state, which is absolute perfection.  

I was also excited to see baby Mackenzie's big brother whom I photographed for his newborn session three years ago.  It's always great to see my little clients growing.  This little cutie had no hair back then and look at him now with his little curls.  So adorable.

I've been photographing this family for a few years now so when they called me to photograph their new baby boy I was super excited.  We decided to shoot the session at their home in Redwood Shores and then to walk over to the neighborhood park.

My favorite photos from this gallery were the photos of baby Ryan in his crib. When I got there he was just waking up from his nap so I quickly grabbed my camera and didn't want to miss any of it.  He woke up a little cautious of a new person in the room but within minutes warmed up and had a blast.  I love that we got such a beautiful set of baby Ryan just hanging out in his crib. Even his big brother joined the fun for a few shots. We got many other beautiful images but these are my favorite.

Tip

If you have a child that is younger then one year old, my suggestion when picking a location would be to do at least one part of the session in the comfort of your home.  Babies feel so comfortable and are often the happiest in their own environment.  I actually spent only about 20 minutes shooting these images in the crib and I got the most beautiful expressions.

About the Family

The Roths' are definitely one of my favorites and also very special to me.  I've photographed them since little Emma was only six months old. She's grown into a beautiful, fun, and happy little girl! I have enjoyed watching little Emma grow to be such a sweet little girl and now I got to see her in a new role as big sister.  She was so loving and gentle towards her baby brother.  During our last session together baby Liam was still in his mommy's belly.  He is now 7 months old and he is super adorable.  His cheeks are like fluffy clouds and his big smile had me grinning the entire time. Both Liam and Emma are so much fun to be around. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to photograph such amazing kids! I look forward to seeing Emma as a big sister to baby Liam and seeing both of them grow, along with Mom and Dad. 
 

About the Session

For this session, we chose to start at the family's home and then walk over to the neighborhood park. Sometimes keeping it close and within familiarity helps create very intimate and personal moments. Everyone felt very comfortable throughout the entire session, which is very important to me. As a family photographer, to create beautiful moments we need to create comfort, as well. When we have a relaxed, comfortable, and familiar environment, we not only have fun; we get beautiful results like with the Roths'.  We spent about three hours together filled with fun. Mom, Dad, Emma, and Liam photographed beautifully and were having so much fun. I was completely unaware of time flying by and truly enjoyed every minute of this session. We had the best time creating memories that the Roths' will enjoy for years to come.
