Guys, how cute is this lifestyle session with twin babies and their toddler “big” sister? Even with ten years of experience photographing babies in the San Francisco Bay Area, it is not too often that I get to photograph twin newborns and especially not twins with a three year old older sibling. Actually, I am pretty sure this was my first such combination. I loved every moment of this lifestyle session including shooting and editing. Finally now I get to pick my favorite images to show off. Choosing favorites was not an easy task at all because the gallery ended up being huge, with 150 different captures, and you can imagine how narrowing it down can be slightly difficult.

About the Newborn Session

I was excited, to say the least, when I first entered this family’s beautiful home in the Orinda hills. It is always the unexpected that gets my creative juices flowing so I usually welcome a touch of uncertainty but this particular day was slightly worrisome to me as a natural light photographer. It was so dark and gloomy and it rained all day long with no break in sight. As I was driving the curvy mountain road up to the house I was hoping that there would be enough light and I would not have to postpone the session. As I entered, I saw the beautiful living space with huge windows and I breathed a sigh of relief. I knew immediately that it would work, erasing any doubts I had.

My favorite part during the whole session was the twins’ older sister who was so sweet and loving. She was giving her new sister and brother lot’s of kisses and hugs.

This session is an excellent example of why I love newborn photography. The precious memories of those very first moments when this sweet family became a party of five is captured by me and these images will now last forever. Enjoy!

Whoa, it has been so long since my last post. I have been so busy and now I am finally coming up for air. Between my son being out of school, the holidays and bunch of photoshoots I am slowly coming back to normal. I can not wait to blog about the sessions that I did but for now I have a teaser shot from a lifestyle newborn session with twin babies and their three year old big sister. I don’t get to photograph twins all that often so I was super excited and ready for the challenge. I will be posting a more complete blog post very soon from this session. It’s definitely one of my recent favorites in the newborn category.

With little to no prompting this little three year old girl was cuddling and giving her brother kisses during the entire photoshoot. It was unbelievable. Her parents told me that she is in awe of them and that she thinks they are just the cutest. I happen to that too.

When I was first contacted by Molly about the maternity session, it was such a short notice. Their scheduled photographer didn’t show up the day of the session and they needed someone quick to fill in. Luckily, I was able to move things around to fit them in because only two days after our maternity session Molly went into labor. I am also super glad that we were able to make it work because I got to meet the sweetest couple ever and we didn’t miss out on capturing these very precious memories.

About the Maternity Session

Molly and Manju picked the Lafayette Reservoir as their location for the maternity photoshoot. Normally the Lafayette Reservoir is not my first choice but in this case, it was the only right choice for the couple. They got married there a year prior and for them the Lafayette Reservoir is a special place. During the entire session these two acted like they are still on their honeymoon. It was so obvious to me how much love is between them. Also, during this session, I’ve grown to love this location and now it will definitely be on my list of favorite spots. I especially loved going close to the water’s edge and getting those beautiful sunset shots. The session was so easy for me and I really enjoyed Molly and Manju’s company and once it was all over, I was so excited to meet their baby girl.

About the Newborn Session

Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait that long until their baby was born. Exactly two days after our maternity session, Molly delivered a very healthy and beautiful baby girl. Newborn photo session was scheduled soon after and it was photographed at their beautiful home in the Orinda hills.

Side Note

I’ve been hearing lately terrible stories about professional photographers not being so professional. For example, I have friends who did the session but never got their photos afterwards or in this case where photographer never even showed up to the session. Imagine being all dressed up with make-up and ready to go and then your photographer is a no show. To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, please please please do your homework. Research the photographer and read his/her reviews. Also, it’s a good idea to put down the deposit and sign a contract. There is a lot of us out there which makes the right choice that much more difficult. Family mementos such as images documenting special events in one’s lives have to be important to photographer as much as they are to you.
