FLEETING MOMENTS | PRECIOUS MEMORIES

I met this gorgeous mama and her family a few years ago through a mutual friend of ours. Life tends to always get in the way and our mutual friend moved away to the East Coast so we really havent's seen each other in a while. I was super excited to hear that Amanda's second baby is on the way and that she wanted me to capture these special moments.  My sessions allow me to reconnect and spend extra time with friends who I don't get to see that often. Plus, I get to meet a little baby boy very soon.  Basically, my job is awesome.

About the Family

Amanda and Alex are some of the sweetest people I ever had a chance to photograph.  They were both natural in front of the camera and were playful and even goofy at times. Also, their little girl Olivia was such a ham during the entire session. Capturing her personality was super easy. At one point, I completely switched to just photographing her. Our maternity session got taken over by this adorable mini model and we went along with it.  She was doing her poses and it was so cute and fun. One thing is for sure, there was not one dull moment during the two hours we spent together.  

Did I mention, Amanda looked stunning! The entire time, I was literally in awe of her pregnancy glow and beauty and could not contain my constant compliments. 

About the Location

For this maternity session we've decided that Borges Ranch in Walnut Creek is a perfect location. Borges Ranch has been around since the late 19th century and it's actually a historic site that is open to visitors. It's one of the favorite locations for photographers here in Walnut Creek and rightfully so.  Amanda wanted a natural yet rustic feel to her maternity photos and Borges Ranch delivers on both those fronts.  Surrounding hills and trails were covered in green which just added even more beauty. We even spotted some deer during our session.

The sunlight from the window pouring in and creating shadows in all the right places makes this shot extra special.  This maternity session I photographed yesterday at my client's beautiful home in Oakland was a visual delight. I can not wait to discover more gems such as this one during the editing process.  More from this session will be coming soon.

Also, I can't wait to meet their little one very soon.

About The Parents-To-Be

I am in love with Lauren and Matt's beautiful maternity session! Lauren and Matt are expecting their first child and they can not be more excited about the next chapter in their lives. Lauren looked simply stunning and the dress she chose to wear was a perfect compliment to her gorgeous baby bump. I am so honored to have been chosen by them to capture these memories with my camera.

About The Session

This maternity session was photographed at the Lands End and Sutro Baths in San Francisco. This location is one of my favorite Bay Area locations to photograph. We're so lucky to be in this gorgeous area! One of the main reasons for my love of the Lands End and Sutro Baths is because you get so much variety, all within walking distance. We started off in the forest area. This is above the Sutro Baths and then, we made our way through the ruins, then down to the beach.  

Because of its beauty, it is no surprise that on any given day there are large groups of photographers working with their clients. Whether it's a wedding, engagement, maternity or a family photo session- the expectation for this area is that it's going to be super busy. I was slightly worried going into it on a beautiful Saturday afternoon like this, but it all worked out. Lauren and Matt had a beautiful maternity session, regardless of how busy it was.  It was a breath of fresh air to discover a sliver of deserted beach and that is where we finished off our session at the perfect time- as the sun went down. The hardest part about Lauren and Matt's maternity session was choosing these photos for this blog post. I could not narrow it down anymore so I am sharing a lot of them with you. Enjoy!
