In Home and Outdoor Lifestyle Newborn Session

What started off as an in-home lifestyle newborn session ended in a beautiful redwood grove. It’s not often that I step outside to take photos of such small babies outdoors but in this case, it was a perfect decision. We did it partly because this baby boy was slightly older then most of the newborns that I photograph but also because we wanted some photos in nature. I suggested the beautiful redwood grove which was located near my client’s home in Berkeley and it turned out to be magical. I really enjoyed meeting this sweet family and had a wonderful time throughout the three hours we spent together.

Lifestyle Newborn Photography

The true beauty of lifestyle newborn photography is that there are really no boundaries of what the sessions should be like. There are no rules, set poses or perfect timing. Each family is different and so the end result is different as well. It’s unique as it should be because it portrays each family’s story in a real and honest way. In this case, the baby boy was just over two months old. He had the most beautiful smile and expressions that you don’t usually see with brand new babies. His parents were able to engage with him and create unforgettable moments which in turn yielded these beautiful images. Don’t ever feel like you are too late to capture your baby’s photos. There are no set rules. Babies are beautiful in every phase and the moments are too precious and fleeting to be missed.

After we photographed inside my client’s home, we ventured off to the nearby park. It was only a ten minutes drive to the Blake Gardens from my client’s home in Berkeley. It’s such a lovely location and it has the most beautiful redwood grove within it’s boundaries. It was well worth the drive and effort. I just love how these images turned out.
